Job Purpose:
The Network Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of HFC and PON networks, ensuring optimal performance and service reliability. The role includes supervising sub-contractors, monitoring SLA/KPIs, and supporting internal teams within IPKO. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills and in-depth knowledge of modern network technologies.
Department: Technical – Operations and Maintenanc
Reports To: Network Field Maintenance Team Leader
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and operate the HFC (Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial) and PON (Passive Optical Network) infrastructure.
Perform regular preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure network stability and reliability.
Supervise and coordinate field activities of sub-contractors, ensuring compliance with quality standards and timelines.
Monitor and track SLA (Service Level Agreement) and KPI (Key Performance Indicators) targets; ensure reporting accuracy and issue escalation when necessary.
Provide technical support to other internal units within IPKO, acting as a key point of contact for network-related matters.
Contribute to the development and improvement of maintenance procedures and technical documentation.
Participate in network upgrades, migrations, and troubleshooting activities.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance, incidents, and configuration changes.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. (Equivalent work experience in a relevant role may be considered in place of a formal degree.)
Strong understanding and hands-on experience with HFC and GPON technologies.
Solid knowledge of networking fundamentals, including IP, routing, switching, and network protocols.
Proficient with PC hardware, software, and network troubleshooting tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, especially in coordinating with contractors and cross-functional teams.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under pressure.
Willingness to work on field when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications (Optional):
Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, JNCIA, or vendor-specific GPON/HFC certifications).
Experience working in telecommunications environments.
Knowledge of network management and monitoring tools.
Working Conditions:
Field and office-based work.
May require flexible hours or on-call availability during maintenance windows or emergency situations.
